Looking for unique experiences in drawing then this session will be most interesting. We will combine Portraiture study and study of Portraiture/ Figure in singing and music making motion. Stills / characteristics and experience of music.

 After the unique experience of last Friday I would like to give you the opportunity of sketching portraiture in stills but also when singing/ pray-formance by Thoth and Lila'Angelique. Ever thought about sketching in theater or during concert. This is your chance.
What can you expect: drawing when models are singing - pray-formance/ music making and sketching when sitting still.

Next to the traditional lessons classes are given with the focus on the experiment. Drawing and painting is more or less making combinations of signs on a surface wich can tell a personal story or concept. Putting yourself into learning boundaries of image making aspects as a goal for learning and understanding these aspects is a way of collecting tools in your image making toolbox.

Life drawing and painting session are ment for studying and improving your skills in drawing and painting the human face and body.

Different techniques will be the subject of the sessions. Putting up not common situations to experience and extend your knowledge and practice by excercise.

Wednesday evening 19.00- 22.00 11-18, Life figure drawing/ painting.

This Wednesday November 25th., 19.00 -22.00, double model: Man & Woman (please note: volume drawing will be introduced next week, not this week)
This Wednesday we will work again with the models Thoth & Lila'Angelique and study. Probably the last time because they will continue their tour Thursday through Europe.
The sequence of steps (and really steps) of building up a drawing after figure is the topic of this session. It's not mentioned to produce a beautifull drawing but to build up your knowledge of anatomy, proportion, balance and technical drawing skills. After warming up with short excercises: 5 x 1 minute, 2 x 5 minute and 1 x 15 minute we will work on a 1 pose long study in the sequence like shown in the picture below.

Although the theme of Wednesday evening is Life figure drawing it's ofcourse possible to train and study in painting or drawing the portrait.

The 'Natural & Experimental' Life drawing and painting sessions by Ruben Schwartz are:
Open for all levels, please sign up before but ofcourse those who want to come spontaneous consider yourself being very welcome!
For this lesson you pay cash:
15 Euro contribution for the lesson/ class and 5 Euro contribution for the model.

Drawing by Topolski as an example of concept of this course: Natural & Experimental drawing by Ruben Schwartz.This lesson will be used to go further into gesture- and contourexercises like we did in the first two lessons. More comprehension for those who allready participated, introduction for new participants.
Each time I’ll introduce a new aspect in consistency with former ones.
This time it will be weight.
Our objective is always to come to the object or the event as near as possible and, while drawing, to respond directly to it.

Impression of Ruben Schwartz: 'Drawing my beautiful son'

Drawing and watching are connected. Even without any art ambitions it can give a lot of pleasure to learn to watch better. We are actualy quiet blind for the surrounding world. Our perception of things stands in the way of our observation. Learning to observe better, for example by drawing, triggers more in a human being than just producing a drawing.
Different methods of learning to watch or draw exist ; More exact methods where you learn about proportions, structures, perspective, tone, color etc with mainly a cognitive approach. Apart from that there are more free methods where you learn to see yourself as the main instrument. Actualy these are about loosing habits rather than acquiring knowledge. This is the way I’ll try to teach. Try, because in the end you are the one who has to find the freedom to develop a personal style. I will give directions, but practicing, working, will be the most important.
We will work with life figures/ models.
