INTRODUCTION
These courses are about drawing and painting; about the experience of drawing and painting and seeing drawings and paintings.
Although there is a vast difference between a freshman and a graduate student in art, there is no such thing as beginning creative/ expressive activity, intermediate creative/ expressive activity, advanced creative/ expressive activity. On any of these levels students may have profound experiences and produce work of high aesthetic merit. If a student does not know the meaning of values or how to produce a broad range of them with a variety of materials, he should acquire this knowledge at once. However, I would continue to maintain that altough it is impossible to state a prescribed order in which things must be learned or experienced, there may be some logical sequences in developing skills. A teacher therefore should set up situations that make it possible for students to have meaningful experiences in drawing and painting, whether they are just beginning or more advanced.

In this course, a quantity of techniques will be introduced in which old and new masters act as examples like Michelangelo till the newest art in present day's. We will work with the most different materials and techniques from traditional hatching techniques up to blow ups created with the overhead projector. The human figure will be one of the subjects and the etching press will not remain unused. The aim of the course is to fill the personal toolbox with experiences and knowledge of techniques and materials. Working outside is possible if weather conditions are favourable.

The line of approach is the personal interest/ preference of the participants. Do you like to be instructed traditional or experimental or maybe both. If you don't know yet then both worlds of techniques can be the subject of the course.

During the courses we will regularly visit the museums with old and new masters to experience the methods and solutions they have chosen (the teacher is also working as a museumguide).
